Why cut the ums and pauses
Talking to a camera, almost everyone says um, starts a sentence twice or pauses to think. Those seconds are where viewers swipe away. Cutting them by hand means scrubbing through the whole video and making dozens of tiny cuts.
AI Video Editor reads the words with their timings, so it knows exactly where each filler, false start and pause is, and cuts the video there. A 2-minute take usually loses 15 to 30 seconds and gains a lot of pace.
How the AI edits your video
Your browser takes the sound out of the video and sends only that audio to be transcribed (Whisper large-v3-turbo), with the moment each word is said. Nothing is kept.
The words and their times, never the video, then go to Claude, an AI by Anthropic, which decides what to cut: fillers, stutters and retakes, or whole sentences when the video should be shorter. Each cut is moved into the quietest moment nearby, so no word gets clipped.
The video is cut on your device, frame by frame, with the sound joined smoothly at every cut, and saved as an MP4. Any captions you add follow the new timing.

Pauses longer than 0.7 seconds become a natural 0.4, including the silence at the start and end.

How do I remove ums and uhs from a video?
Choose your video on this page. After the words are written out, Clean up crosses out every um, uh, repeated word and retake. Play it to check, tap anything you want to keep, then create the edited video.
Can it remove silence from a video?
Yes. With Shorten long pauses on, every pause longer than 0.7 seconds becomes 0.4 seconds, including dead air at the start and the end. Each cut lands in the quietest moment, so words aren't clipped.
How does it know which take to keep?
When you start a sentence, stop and say it again, the AI keeps the last complete take and cuts the earlier try, along with things like "wait, let me say that again".
Can it make my video 60 seconds for Reels or Shorts?

The words can be written out in 99 languages. The AI recognises fillers in English, Hindi and Hinglish, Spanish, Portuguese and other languages it reads well.
Can I add captions to the edited video?
Yes. Turn on Add captions and pick a style: the captions follow the edited video's new timing. You can also download the subtitles as an SRT file that matches the edited video.
